Overview:
The Very Light Twin (VLT) is a concept where the object is to produce a simple to operate, simple to maintain and easily road-able, conventional multi engine design that was originally based on a small single engine aeroplane, which complies with the Australian CASA experimental homebuilt aircraft classification. Design Considerations:
- Two seat, side by side seating, for company
- Two small engines, cheap operating costs

Detachable wings, for road transport
- Meet or exceed FAR 23 standards
- Fully feather-able CSU propellers
- Normal category operation
- Retractable landing gear
- Occupants 100kgs each
- Baggage 25kgs each
- Range min 500 Nm @100kts
- Small runway lengths less than 500m
- 5+ hrs of endurance, plus 45 mins reserve
- Simple conventional instruments (round dials)
